Wazalendo

Wassup? It's been a while since I posted. Been busy with work and school, I am not complaining though. It's been a time to learn and see how much i can push myself.
Back to matters photography. Over the weekend I met up with a friend of mine I had not seen in a minute.
As we got talking he mentioned a special group of people. The Kenya 8-ball pool team. They're the ones to represent Kenya in Blackpool England, for the World 8-ball pool championships. The tournament will run from the 25th of June to the 5th of July.
That said, they will have a going away party in K-1 tomorrow evening at 8pm. Lets show up and give the guys all our support.
We wish them Godspeed and success as they represent our beautiful nation.

In their zone

Animals are always a joy to watch. Their reaction to each other and just the way they behave generally. One creature that has always fascinated me is the Colobus monkey. I have always been drawn to its colour and their behaviour patterns.
It's amazing, as I  took these pictures it dawned on me we never really take time to let God take care of us. He says that He has our backs, but we never really let Him take His place and allow Him to provide for us. I guess its the human nature we are at war with on a daily. All in all its was a wake up call to take it easy, relax and know that He is in control because He takes care of all his creation.
Here goes....

Amazing

Watching children is always an amazing experience. Its always interesting to see how gullible they are or how inquisitive they are. One of the most interesting things about children is their ability to mimic adults or ape the things that adults do.
I struggle to define this moment. I think it is worth capturing. Not only is it interesting it's thought provoking too.
Only in Africa would you have the pleasure of seeing this. One child carrying another ...

Tea time...

There's something about cloudy, cold days. It starts from the way people dress up to the things people always seem to be thinking about. the weather in Nairobi has been a little bit unpredictable. We thank God for the rain though. I just hope that we utilise the rain.
One of the most interesting things about the rainy weather is that your always sure a mug of coffee, hot chocolate or tea will come in handy.
Especially on a cold afternoon there is nothing like a cup of hot coffee some jazz and a muffin, croissant or pastry to bring your evening or long day to a close.
here's my  tea time...

Corner-Baridi blues

It's the beginning of the weekend and I was just thinking to myself how productive this week has been. It hasn't been easy but it has been a whole lot of fun and adventure. More importantly it has been fulfilling.
I had two shoots this week so it's been one of those hectic ones.
For one of the shoots I was in Corner-baridi and got to realise how beautiful our beloved Kenya is. Not just in terms of landscape but in terms of the people, diverse culture and more importantly the heritage we posses. I just couldn't get enough.
This is what it looked like.

As I sea it

It's been a minute since I last posted.
Too much has been happening and its been slightly overwhelming. But in good time all be well. This post is inspired by what has been happening over the last couple of weeks.I realised in a more candid way  1 Corinthians 12:9. That in my weakness His strength is made perfect.
He protects me and surrounds me with His love regardless of where I  am at,what I am going through or struggling with. The same is true with the sea and coral cliff... God stands as the coral cliff and no matter how hard the waves hit the cliff it stands unmoved. At the end of it all, there is calm.
We live knowing we have God on our side to protect us another day.
God will always be a constant and that's something to smile about.

The waves as they begin

The waves are getting bigger and your strength
is not enough to see you through it

God's strength made perfect through
His protection

Trials are done.... for now

Basking in His glory as He has seen
you through it all. Peace glorious peace

Rivers

To many people water is life. And as we grow older one of the most popular statements about water we hear is "still waters run deep". Rivers are a clear illustration of this statement.
Large masses of water have interesting effects on different people. For me its natures way of reminding me that we each run a course set out for us. The course is not always the easiest but it makes life all the more interesting. This is my expression of the river

Everything is A okay

The early manageable learning experiences

The beginning with little hardships learning to brave
the storms of life

Nothing to smile about

Turmoil and hardships through the rapids
but its getting better

Peace and rest  just after the storm
After all is said and done
